The range of Bluetooth connectable devices available worldwide is enormous. To test every one of these against each in-car system for Bluetooth interoperability issues would be impractical and hugely expensive.
Our approach is to use a variety of data sources and capture methods to refine the potential list of devices to test.
Having established the vehicle and the geographical market of interest, we begin with customer demographic information from the vehicle and mobile technology manufacturers.
Coupling this with actual sales data, feedback from OEM regional managers and our own insights developed from the experience we have gained, we are able to select the most appropriate products for initial verification through our process.
For example, it is possible to predict with a high level of accuracy, the mobile phone the owner of a car model in any particular country is likely to own.
This is an ongoing process and we will typically retest quarterly with the appropriate software updates.
These techniques ensure the right data is available to our clients when they need it and helps to keep costs down by avoiding irrelevant or unnecessary testing.
